Renault Exterior Design

Renault Frendzy Concept

Renault has revealed the first details on the Frendzy Concept, a commercial electric vehicle inspired by the world of work and the new brand’s design language. It will be officially unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Frendzy Concept represents the fourth step in Renault’s design strategy based on the different stages of the human life cycle. The car can be used both as a modern office on wheels and as a passenger cars.
To express this dualism, Renault has created an asymmetric layout; the passenger’s side – focused on “work” – has no rear side window, and features one conventional door and one sliding side door incorporating a 37-inch widescreen display.

The driver’s side, representing the world of family, is complete with side windows, still no B pillar, but has center opening doors. The dual personality is also underlined by the twin-tone paintwork, with the business-side featuring a larger use of the medium cool grey color.
Inside, the driver’s cockpit looks like a futuristic work bench made of molten metal and the same design is adopted for the rear right door panel.
The ambient lighting ranges from green (work mode) to orange (family mode) and is spread through these distinctive organic surfaces.
